This generator has started on the first pull every time so far. I haven’t even tried the electric start. It runs perfectly. I highly recommend it.
You hear the phrase all over the net, content is king. I have to disagree. When it comes to generating organic traffic, getting links is key. Your ability to get links will directly impact your site's authority and search engine rankings. The key to success in SEO is getting quality anchored links, not content.
The idea that content is king comes from the fact that Google loves content and, in theory, you can rank for more keywords by using more words in your content. The basics of that belief is true, but Google does not rank content alone. The number one factor in ranking well in Google is quality back-links.
Generating content is an important part of your SEO, but many bloggers spend hours generating high quality content. There are incredible writers on the internet that go nowhere, while blackhat spammers and thin affiliate sites dominate them in SERPS. So why Briggs Generator is low quality content generating more traffic? It is due to the quality and quantity of links pointing to that page.
Content plays three important roles in SEO. First, it provides Google with content to crawl. You provide Google with keywords, both short tail and long tail that can be used to rank your site. In addition, quality content makes your site sticky. Although quality content won't bring traffic, it will keep traffic. Your feed count will go up and your bounce rate will go down. People will stick around to consume your content. These followers can turn into potential links sources down the road. Lastly, content provides a form of link bait. Quality content can motivate people to link to your site. The content alone does not bring organic traffic, but can help produce links, which will bring organic traffic.
When I launce a site, I spend 20% of my time researching keywords to target. I then spend 10% of my time crafting content for those keywords. And I spending the other 70% of my time getting links or promoting my content via social media, in hope of getting more links. In modern SEO, getting links is one of the hardest and most time consuming task you'll do. This might be why Google ranks links so highly, because they're not always easy to get.
If you've been generating content for your blog for months, and see no growth, you should consider building links. For the next month, spend 80% of all your blogging time working on getting links and promoting your site. Slow down your posting, your blog will not die over night. Instead of crafting a post a day, post two or three times a day. Spend the other four or five days getting links to your site. You should see start seeing a drastic increase in the rankings to your site.

Some facts…because it’s air-cooled it’s louder than a 4-stroke, but not louder than a 2-stroke. It has a bit more vibration. Its slowest speed is still a pretty fast troll. Those I think are the biggest trade-offs. If those trade-offs are not acceptable to you then cough up the extra $400-600 for a 5hp 4-stroker.
For the money it’s a really good fishing engine. I like that I don’t have to deal with a water pump repair anymore, so overall it’s an easier engine to maintain. Always starts by the 3rd pull (1st pull when it’s warm). I like being the only one on the water with American Iron on the transom; it has a distinctive look (I call it the FlatHead) and engine note. Overall, you’ll either love it or hate it; that’s pretty much the reaction you’ll hear or read about it.
I really regret buying this motor. First of all, it is very loud, much louder than a water-cooled engine. It is as loud as a lawn mower if you stuck your head right down by the lawn mower engine. Second, it doesn’t tilt sufficiently to get the prop out of the water like a water-cooled engine so we have to take it off the dinghy if we want to tow the dinghy. Third, the gear shift is really clunky to operate. I looked at the Mercury engines with the gear shift integrated into the throttle control and that is a much superior design.
I thought I would save some money by buying this engine over a Mercury but I am going to sell this engine at the first opportunity and get the Merc I should have purchased in the first place.
Great little motor, bought for a small fishing boat that my 2 sons and I use. Pulls us all over the lake with ease. Would recommend for any small boat.
Delivered quickly. Exactly as specified. Runs Great. Very happy with product. Would and will buy from here again. Thank You, Allan
We have had our generator for close to a year now and it has never failed to do what it is needed to do. I have to say that we are happy campers indeed. It is extremely important that we have equipment that can handle heavy and persistent work loads at times. We have to rely on this generator completely in our wilderness off the grid location when there is inadequate solar gain to power our home and pump our water. We use ours every single day at times. This unit works so well that THREE of our neighbors have bought the exact some model for use at their own places after seeing ours in action. I have heard absolutely no complaints… only raves from all of them. I’m not sure why some others here have had issues… but none of us have.
After substantial experinece in helping people in the aftermath of hurricanes, I saw that hurricane Ike was about one week out from my house inland and decided I would not be one of those poor saps without a generator when the power went out. I went to every store around 50 miles of my house before I finally found a generator. It happened to be briggs and stratton elite series with 8000 running watts. It was the only one left and I knew it, so I bought it reluctantly from a tractor supply store in Texas. Well, after a week of having my power out from hurrican Ike I was thrilled with it. Heck, I was even able to watch dvd’s on my TV, and that was while I had the comfort of knowing my refrigerator/freezer was running along with fans to keep the heat down. It is dirt simple to use, it is rugged, and the only minor complaint I would make is it about as loud as a riding lawn mower. That really isn’t terrible though considering that it is a pretty powerful generator as “portable” units go. Thanks Briggs and Stratton, you never let me down.
I purchased my generator from Home Depot on 13 April. I had a licensed electrician install a manual transfer switch. On 8 June, we had our first power outage. The generator started up immediately and ran for 10 minutes and then shut down. On restart, it ran for 5 minutes and shut down. After about an hour of this we decided to just weather the 96 degree heat with no electricity.
The next morning, I called Briggs & Stratton and followed their voice prompts which gave me the name of a local “Briggs & Stratton authorized warranty repair facility”. I loaded this monstrous machine into my SUV and drove it over to the designated facility. About an hour later, I received a call that the “authorized Briggs & Stratton warranty repair facility” could not do the work because the Briggs & Stratton generator had a Generac motor on it. Another trip to pick up the generator and then called Briggs & Stratton back. After 1 1/2 hours of listening to how important my call was and that my called would be answered by the next available customer service rep, I called Home Depot from my cellphone who was willing to issue a refund even though the generator was more than 30 days old.
I give this Briggs & Stratton 8000 watt generator a 1 only because 0 was not an option. I would give Home Depot a 10.

A great generator for the jobsite and home use. My order arrived on time and generator set up was fast and easy. But after putting the generator together, I could not get it started. After checking all the trouble shooting suggestions on the Briggs and Stratton website, I called customer service…they finally suggested I take it to one of their authorized dealers (15 miles away). The problem: the delivery company tilted the generator/container on it’s side during delivery, oil from the engine dripped into the air filter stopping air flow. No air flow, no start. A simple fix once identified. Cost: a new air filter and time away from the job. Briggs and Stratton: Great website, customer service and product.
